When you have scabies, you often don’t realize it. This is where pictures of scabies may come in handy. Most of these infestations can just appear to be bug bites at first. But as your body’s allergic reaction to it worsens, you may have more widespread lesions.
Symptoms of Scabies in Adults
Here is a picture that has the tell tale sign of scabies:
Here is a picture shows the allergic reaction to it. Not all of the rash is caused by the mite itself. You may only have a few mites on your body, but your immune system will trigger a rash covering a much larger area. This will often be your first symptom – a bunch of pink or red bumps that look like pimples of bug bites.
The most common symptom other than the rash is the intense itching. It will often get worse at night.
Symptoms of Scabies in Children
Children will have the same symptoms as adults. They will be less able to control scratching, especially at night. The rash will be likely confined to a small area, although it can spread with a stronger allergic reaction. The most commonly affected areas include the webs between the fingers, the wrists, and the back of the elbows and knees. It also may occur around the waist.
There will be burrows in a small S shape, but they may be difficult to see without a magnifying glass.
